All About Fake ID

We are comfortable with ID cards- almost too much. A well made ID card will fool most every common citizen and even many in our law enforcement community. How many NJ State Troopers have ever even seen an Alabama or Tennessee driver’s license to know whether it was fake or not. The licenses from out of state often won’t scan in other state’s computer systems anyways, so it’s just a piece of plastic with the person’s face on it.

Many major universities have a cottage industry of fake photo ID businesses. It funds many a student’s college career, and allows many underage persons the opportunity to indulge in adult beverages at local college-town drinking holes.

How about illegal immigrants or non-residents? They start with a fake “Guatemala National ID Card”, or such, that can be used to cash checks, get a cellular phone, or rent an apartment. Then with the rental and phone bill documents, you can get a local library card. Then, with that, you can get additional identification papers and eventually collect enough stuff to get a real driver’s license. That’s how it’s done. I welcome any State Attorney General (especially New Jersey) to have a private and confidential conversation with me regarding this theory.

The worst scenario is the fake Police ID card that allows a person with ill-intent to access a controlled area, or a fake Hospital ID card that allows someone access to our medical facilities. Hollywood has depicted both scenarios in blockbuster films where fake IDs are used to gain access to sensitive areas.
